PRA
Progressive retinal atrophy or degeneration
(PRA or PRD) is the name for several diseases
that are progressive and lead to blindness.
There are many forms of PRA that differ in
the age of onset and rate of progression of
the disease. PRA can't be treated, but luckily
there is a gene test for prcd for chinese crested's,
so you can avoid at least one form of pra.
PRA is recessively inherited.
Luxatio Lentis
Lense luxation is defined as the displacement
of the lens from the normal position in the eye
which is caused by rips in the zonula or suspensor
ligaments. The luxation is very painful for the
dog and unfortunately the results of lens luxation
surgery haven't been very successful.
Lense luxation is likely to be recessively inherited.

Eye lash
abnormalities:
distichiasis,
ectopic cilia, trichiasis
The problem is that eye lashes grow in the wrong direction
or there are extra eye lashes which can disturb the eye.
The mode of inheritance has not been established.
Treatment is to have the abnormal hair follicles destroyed
by a veterinary if they disturb the dog.

The retinal cells receive light stimulation from the
external environment and transmit the info to the brain
where it is interpreted to become vision. In many breeds
inheritance is thougt to be autosomal resessive.
The symptoms vary from no harm in the eye to total
